2014-2015 Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellowship Positions

Our AmeriCorps Legal Fellowship positions are filling up! This year, we have priorities for our Veterans Legal Corps and Employment Opportunities Legal Corps. Most fellows will have an option to renew for a second year, contingent upon continued funding.

Fellows begin their one-year term between August 1 and September 30. Host sites began posting positions in late June, and most available slots will be filled this month. Available positions are posted on PSJD, host site employment pages, and linked on our website:

Applications are submitted directly to the host site, so please contact sites directly regarding availability and to apply. To be eligible for an AmeriCorps Legal Fellowship, applicants must be a graduate of an Equal Justice Works member law school; be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident; and complete a required criminal background check, including FBI finger print check. Specific host sites may set additional requirements.

2014-15 AmeriCorps JD Positions

We are now looking for students to serve in AmeriCorps JD for the fall semester. Our current priority areas are in our Veterans Legal Corps, Employment Opportunity Legal Corps and Disaster Legal Corps.

AmeriCorps JD is an AmeriCorps-funded program that provides law students with the opportunity to earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award for dedicating 300 hours of service to a qualifying legal project with a nonprofit program or other qualifying organization. AmeriCorps JD applicants must be current students at Equal Justice Works member law schools.

For more information on service during the fall term, please contact americorpsjd@equaljusticeworks.org.

Updated Sponsor Preferences

We continue to update our sponsor preferences as more information becomes available. Sponsors have preferences for different geographic areas, as well as substantive law areas. We’ll be sending out an updated list shortly, so please be sure to check your inbox for new preferences to share with your students.
